Florence- Our Favorite St Jean de Luz Shopkeeper 

What a beautiful community, St Jean de Luz, tucked away in the SW corner of France on the Atlantic ocean and just miles from Spain.  We had a very relaxing stay.  Beautiful beaches and a great area for surfing.

The church pictured below is located in the heart of town, it was where King Louis XIV of France was married to the daughter of the King of Spain Marie-Therese. This finally brought peace between the two countries.

Hitler and the leader of Spain Francisco Franco met in this area to discuss WWII strategy in 1940.   Hitler was not impressed with Franco so Spain was not invited to join into the fray of WWII because of that meeting.  Little did Spain realize on that day how much misery they saved themselves.  That's enough history for today.

Our apartment ( Airbnb) is really perfect for what we need, great location and very neat and clean.

On Saturday we high tail it to Spain.....neither one of us have been there so we're excited to experience the country.  The "Running of the Bulls" is coming up but I think we might pass, my Nike's just don't feel up to the pressure!!!!!!!!
