Cathy and Margaret here.  We are giving the blogsters a break while visiting them in France.  Relocation from Des Moines to the French Riviera was easy with Renee and Denny's help.  They met us at the airport in Nice and brought us on the train home  to our walk-up (and I mean walk-up) apartment in VilleFranche.  Our first purchase was a bottle of rose at a wine store on the shore, which we enjoyed before dinner at our apartment.

Our first day has been full of walking, exploring and swimming at the beach.  The food, of course, is wonderful.  As you can see, dinner last night at a neighborhood restaurant was fantastic, and we were surrounded by tourists from all over Europe.  Our favorite was a tanned and blond family of six (we think from Sweden) with the kids all sitting and enjoying an almost 2 hour dinner.  Denny's inquiries of our waiter's heritage (are you from here?) were met with French incredulity.  Obviously he has never had an Iowan express interest in him.

We are pleased to report that Renee and Denny are doing well.  They are relaxed, tan and as hospitable as can be.   They are taking us to Monaco tomorrow.  If we hit the jackpot in Baccarat there will be no future posts.
