Europe's Power Center: Brussels

With Brussels being the home of the European Union and of NATO it's certainly the hub of decision making for Europe and much of the world. On Monday there will be a special meeting here of the 28 EU countries to decide further the EUs relationship with Egypt.

A Nobel Peace Prize display was on hand at the European Parliament visitor center which was interesting. FUN to see what a real Nobel Peace Prize looks like.........very similar in size to an Olympic medal.

It was neat to visit the EU buildings and to see where 28 countries come together to work toward Peace rather than War. With all the languages, histories and cultures it is a mammoth task to keep a sense of harmony among all the people represented.........but then you realize that as people we all long for the same basic rights and liberties.

Because of the distance we flew from Prague to Brussels. It's very reasonable to fly within Europe.

In The EU Parliament before they take the final vote on a bill they take a thumbs up or thumbs down vote to see if there are enough votes for a final vote
